Learning various domestic animals and pets with pictures

Domestic animals and pets are animals that have been selectively bred and genetically adapted over generations to live alongside human beings. Domestic animals and pets become genetically different from their wild ancestors. Domestic animals and human beings have very close relationships. On one hand, domestic animals and pets depend on human’s care and support. On the other hand, domestic animals have both practical uses, such as pets and food sources, and symbolic uses, such as in art and literature. Most kids are naturally interested in animals and enjoy learning all the information of the animals. Learning caring for animals around us can help kids learn to love and care for others.

This worksheet provides pictures of several common domestic animals, including dog, cat, rooster, goat, goose, duck, rabbit, cow, pig and horse. Parents could use it to introduce these animals to kids, and from these pictures kids could easily grab the unique features of each animal. Then parents could add more information about the animals, such as their sounds, their looks, favorite food, uses, and so on.
